Innovation and Tradition: The APRTS Didactic Truffle, an Educational Jewel
The Association pour la Promotion de la Truffe Vaudoise (APRTS) reached a major milestone on October 13, 2021, with the inauguration of Europe's first didactic truffle farm - a vibrant testament to their commitment to the education and preservation of truffle growing. This unique space is a showcase for all of Europe's edible truffle varieties, offering an in-depth look at this fascinating world.
Nestled in the heart of Switzerland's leading truffle-growing region, the truffle farm is distinguished by its educational approach, aimed at sharing the wealth of this natural and gastronomic heritage with the general public and enthusiasts alike. The truffle farm highlights the main species of mycorrhizal trees, the silent but essential partners of truffles, who form a symbiosis that allows the creation of these underground gems.

Thanks to the joint efforts of the Compagnons de la Truffe Vaudoise and the commune of Bonvillars, the land chosen for the truffle farm has excellent pedological characteristics for truffle cultivation and blends in perfectly with the surrounding vineyard landscape. It's an example of successful collaboration between local players who share a common vision: to enhance and promote truffle cultivation while respecting the environment.
The educational truffle farm is also a center for innovation, where numerous cultivation techniques are applied and perfected. Specific pruning methods are developed to optimize truffle production, ensuring the sustainability and quality of future harvests.

APRTS is a key player in the field of truffle growing, skilfully combining teaching and practice. Their didactic truffle farm is a living learning environment, where knowledge is passed on with respect for tradition and openness to innovation.
